Using the Freestyle Scorebook

Modified on Wed, 27 Aug at 3:38 PM

MatBoss makes it easy to capture video and statistics for wrestlers competing in offseason Freestyle or Greco-Roman events.

Getting Started

Every MatBoss account comes with a built-in Freestyle and Greco scorebook, designed specifically for recording and analyzing matches contested under international styles.

Step 1: Create a Freestyle Event

  1. Navigate to the Freestyle and Greco scorebook from the Scorebooks tab.

  2. Create a new event for your upcoming Freestyle or Greco competition.

Step 2: Add and Record Matches

  1. Open the event you just created.

  2. Create the individual matches you want to record.

  3. Use the recording interface to capture video and score matches live.

    • The scoring buttons are customized to reflect Freestyle and Greco-Roman rules, making it easy to track exposures, step-outs, passivity points, and more.

Step 3: Review Freestyle Stats

After your matches are recorded:

  • Navigate to the Stats & Reports tab.

  • Select the Freestyle and Greco scorebook from the filters.

  • View in-depth performance data for each athlete and match.

Why It Matters

Tracking offseason performance helps coaches:

  • Monitor athlete development beyond the folkstyle season.

  • Identify trends and technical areas for improvement.

  • Keep comprehensive year-round records for each wrestler.

If you have suggestions for additional Freestyle or Greco metrics you’d like to see added to MatBoss, feel free to reach out—we’re always listening.
